Well here is an alternative - the natural wood based firelighter made from wood from sustainable forests.

This product is simply made from small shreds of softwood that are wound together to make a long rope and dipped in hot natural wax and then cut in length, simply the perfect starter every time, soft to light on the outside but extremely dense of the inside to give you the length of burn.
